Join Phoenix Eats + Drinks cookbook author Christina Barrueta and featured chefs Brent Menke and James Fox to celebrate Phoenix's food and wine community at The Mick Brasserie & Bar. The chefs' four dishes featured in the cookbook will be offered as specials that night. To complement the menu, Maverick Beverage Company will host a complimentary wine tasting with selections chosen to pair with the dishes. Books will be available for purchase, or bring your own copy for signing.

SOMM BRAWL 2026: The Redemption Pour

Step into the ring for the ultimate blind-tasting showdown! Eight of the finest sommeliers go head-to-head across four-course tasting menus crafted by Executive Chef Brent Menke and Chef de Cuisine Michael Winneker. Wines are paired by the competing sommeliers, and YOU get to be the judge. Cast your vote after each course to decide which pairing advances on the road to the SOMM BRAWL Finals.

Join us at The Mick in partnership with The Somm School for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, a three day certification experience for wine professionals and serious enthusiasts ready to deepen their knowledge. 

 Class sessions take place Sunday April 19 and Sunday April 26 from 10 AM to 6PM, with the official WSET Level 2 exam on Sunday May 3rd. Over two immersive class days, you will explore major wine regions and grape varieties, refine your tasting technique, and build confidence evaluating wine styles and food pairings through guided tastings. The experience concludes with the official WSET Level 2 certification exam on day three. 

 The experience is $999 per person and includes all three days of the program. This includes $700 for the official WSET Level 2 course and certification exam and $299 for wines, food pairings, service, and all taxes and gratuity.
